Designed by Harold Alfred, this stunning and unique salad bowl combines functionality with the highest level of aesthetic quality. Each piece is individually adorned with Mr. Alfred's art by an acid etching process. Each bowl is hand hammered. The material is silver plated copper, as copper is considered a symbol of prosperity and good fortune among NW coast Native peoples.

 

The Sun is identified with its long rays and usually has the face of the hawk with its recurved beak touching its mouth. The Sun Chief is the provider of healing energy and life, put into the sky by the Raven. The rays are means of our travel between earth and sky.

 

This large bowl (14" in diameter) is ideal for serving salads, fruits, pasta, rice and many other culinary creations. This bowl should not be placed in a dishwasher.
