Christa Ovenell began her career 13 years ago as a student in a local culinary arts program. After 3 years of cooking in Vancouver, Christa moved to Ontario and 'jumped the line', becoming a server while she furthered her post secondary education. Upon her return to Vancouver she worked at some of the city's finest restaurants and eventually joined the management team at Canadian Pacific's Waterfront Centre Hotel. She left the hotel to open the critically acclaimed restaurant, The Beggar's Purse. The restaurant was an exciting experiment that allowed her to bring her passion for excellent food and warm service to the public table.
