In every culture it is the expression of art that transcends history. To understand the meanings within the expression of art is to appreciate the heritage of the people. We invite you to discover the art forms that come from the first inhabitants of a daunting group of islands off the coast of Canada and southern Alaska known today as the Queen Charlottes. The history dates back more then 9000 years. This is the homeland of the Haida.

 

At our online gallery, our cousin Clarence Mills has created three original drawings for us. The frog is the primary spirit helper of the Shaman. The Hummingbird is the messenger of joy and healing and the Killer Whale represents the reincarnated spirits of great chiefs.
